This adventure has begun! The challenges of even knowing what to do next have taken their briefly paralyzing measure. But with the gentle, patient push of friend Mike, progress is being made.

After digging out the remaining stubborn rubble of the ditch leading to a recently installed septic system and connecting the drain piping from the house to the sanitation tank, it became time to truly get started on the development of the living quarters.

Since phone service [336.994.4180] and temporary power were already in place before I arrived, the initial focus was to install interior circuits that would take advantage of those services. Specifically, I needed power to the pump and an incoming refrigerator in the pedestal, power to the living area, and two convenient phone lines for communication ... both voice and digital.

By mid June these tasks are now completed to the extent that I have water pumped from my well to a hose accessible from the deck, a tolerable effluent disposal system, refrigeration, 42 electrical outlets running on four separate circuits to power my human creature comforts, and phone service available from five different locations.
